  • 45-year-old patient presented with history of abdominal discomfort.

  • Patient underwent biopsy that showed reactive lymphoid hyperplasia.
  • Lymphadenopathy is a broader term referring to any pathology of lymph nodes, not necessarily resulting in increased size.
  • Causes of lymph node enlargement can be infective orreactive.
  • The upper limit in size of a normal node varies with location and the size cutoff used depends on the desired sensitivity and specificity. 
  • In general, 10 mm is considered the upper limit for normal nodes (short transverse diameter).
  • Mesenteric nodes are increasingly visualized as a result of multidetector volume acquisition and are most easily seen on coronal reformats.

If you click on the ad blocker icon, you should be able to deactivate ad blocker from running on this domain.

With lymphoma you usually see retropritoneal adenopathy as well. Although it should remain in the differential as well as tbc and metastatic disease.
