Backup recovery system extends beyond images

Greg Freiherr
December 3, 2004

InSiteOne, a provider of on- and offsite secure DICOM storage, is expanding its disaster recovery offering to provide data protection beyond DICOM images. The new service addresses all medical data, including the databases that drive a PACS or HIS/RIS.

The InDex Recovery Plus backs up data on a client's storage area network or on individual servers. It can be customized to accommodate a range of backup strategies from delta-based replication to synchronous and asynchronous mirroring.

The product is designed to work seamlessly on a wide range of platforms, as well as support scalable and customizable configurations, according to the company. Although the system is designed as an offsite solution, customers can elect to have a redundant copy running onsite as well to allow more rapid recovery of the network.
