Digital stereotaxy adds to GE digital mammo

An add-on digital stereotaxy option for GE’s Senographe Essential lets users perform biopsies on its full-field digital mammography system, sparing institutions the expense of setting up a dedicated biopsy room, according to the company. GE Healthcare unveiled Senographe Essential Interventional as part of its digital mammography platform during the RSNA 2008. The biopsy feature leverages the FFDM detector to allow easy localization of lesions biopsy, making workflow more efficient and boosting productivity.

Radiation dose awareness leads to more pediatric referrals for ultrasound and MRI
