Mindray readies new products
Chinese medical device maker Mindray Medical International will unveil a digital x-ray system among the 40 new products slated to debut Oct. 29 to Nov. 1 at the China International Medical Equipment Fair. The company will highlight its DigiEye 760 DR system along with several patient monitoring and life-support systems.
Digirad shuffles top execs
Todd P. Clyde has replaced Mark Casner as president and CEO of Digirad Corporation. Casner resigned Oct. 20 to pursue new business opportunities, according to the company. Clyde had been Digirad's CFO since November 2002 and will continue in that position until a new CFO is appointed. In December 2007, Clyde was promoted to executive vice president and product head. Prior to joining Digirad, he held senior finance and accounting positions at Verance, I-Bus/Phoenix, and Ernst & Young. Digirad provides diagnostic nuclear and ultrasound imaging systems and services to physicians' offices, hospitals, and other medical services providers for cardiac, vascular, and general imaging applications. Its product portfolio includes the solid-state Cardius XPO line of gamma cameras and small-footprint 2020tc.
Imaging suite fosters productivity
Elsevier brings together reference, education, and communications in Mosby's Imaging Suite, an integrated web-based platform designed to help imaging departments and clinics boost productivity. The imaging suite features an online searchable edition of Merrill's Atlas of Radiographic Positions and Radiologic Procedures. The platform delivers continuing education, providing access to more than 70 category-A CE credits for technologists. It also serves as a means for sending communications among management and staff through a homepage that allows access to announcements and verification of physician and institution protocols.
