French toss millions at ultrasound-guided therapy
The French government has awarded €8.5 million in R&D funding to develop elastography-guided ultrasound therapy for patients suffering from hyperparathyroidism. Paris-based Theraclion will leverage ultrasound technology developed by its French partner SuperSonic Imagine. The two groups will split the funds provided by the French state innovation agency OSEO: Theraclion will receive €6.9 million, and SuperSonic Imagine will get €1.6. This is Theraclion's third award from OSEO. Four years ago, the French start-up received €500,000. Two years later, it received €1.3 million.
