CT guidance directed a 3.5-cm-diameter electrode array into unresectable lung mass. Ten needle deployments under short-acting general anesthetic produced a complete thermal lesion. PET imaging one day after the procedure revealed no glucose uptake in the tumor region, suggesting complete ablation.
