InfoRAD explores digital solutions

Magna Cum Laude winner navigates virtual patient

Dozens of InfoRAD presentations addressed evolving issues in the management of digital radiology issues, and authors were often on hand to explain their concepts. The exhibit's Magna Cum Laude award went to a new technology presentation called "Data explosion in radiology: solving the problem on the user interface side," developed by Michael Teistler and colleagues from Braunschweig, Germany. The exhibit, a continuing evolution of presentations that began in 2001, allows users to select image planes in a virtual patient in real-time, using a handheld probe to negotiate MR, CT, and 3D ultrasound data sets.
