Sentillion Announces Cottage Health System and Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services as Early Adopters of its User Provisioning Solution

July 6, 2004

ANDOVER, Mass., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Sentillion, Inc, the leading provider of identity and access management solutions to the healthcare industry, today announced Cottage Health System of Santa Barbara, Calif. and Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services in Louisville, Ky., as early adopters of its user provisioning solution. Since announcing Vergence Provisioning Manager(TM) in February at the annual HIMSS conference, Sentillion has received an unparalleled level of interest from healthcare organizations that view user account management as an integral component of their identity and access management strategy.

Today most hospitals require IT administrators to manually create, modify or delete user accounts. This process is extremely fragile and time consuming, often resulting in end-user frustration due to significant delays in creating accounts, and puts an organization at risk for potential security vulnerabilities when it does not promptly disable or terminate accounts.

Sentillion's Provisioning Manager solution resolves healthcare's unique user management challenges by providing a single, centralized product for automating the management of an organization's user-base and all associated applications. Provisioning Manager is pre-packaged with Web-based, self- service tools that enable an organization's IT department or other authorized personnel, including non-technical users to perform account administration, including the creation, termination and disabling of users.

"Like other healthcare organizations, we have a mix of full-time employees as well as affiliated physicians and temporary workers who all need access to applications in order to perform their jobs," said David Pecoraro, vice president and CIO at Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services in Louisville. "The only option for maintaining control, decreasing risk and speeding access to these applications is to automate the account management process. Sentillion's Vergence Provisioning Manager solution was purpose-built to meet the unique provisioning needs of healthcare organizations and we look forward to this partnership."

Sentillion's Vergence product was designed specifically to meet the productivity, privacy and security needs of hospitals, medical centers and healthcare providers. Vergence enables user provisioning, enterprise single sign-on, strong authentication including password, biometrics and proximity technologies, context management and privacy auditing across any clinical and non-clinical applications.

Cottage Health System, located in Santa Barbara, Calif., is the largest hospital servicing the city and surrounding area with more than 20,000 patient admissions per year including more than 98,000 annual patient visits, 67,000 annual ambulatory visits and 45,000 ED visits per year.

Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services is a regional network of more than 50 healthcare facilities with more than 1,300 patient beds. Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services provides a complete array of health care services in Kentucky and southern Indiana including: hospitals, emergency air ambulance, assisted living, home health care, outpatient care, nursing home care, occupational health and rehab medicine.
