Richardson Electronics Medical Systems, of LaFox, IL, has introduced two new large-field image intensifier replacementsone designed for Philips 36 to 38-cm intensifiers and one for Siemens 40-cm intensifier.
Over the past 15 years, wear and tear on many large field-of-view image intensifiers has reached the point where there is significant image quality degradation and increased x-ray dose.
Both replacements are based on the Thomson TH9447HX image tube.
The Philips replacement utilizes the original housing, reloaded with the Thomson 16-inch image tube. It can be configured for either RF or angiographic installations, and includes a new power supply and optics.
The Siemens replacement utilizes the same 16-inch tube with Thomson housing, a new power supply, and the original Siemens distributor.
