Medrad will begin distributing Merge Healthcare’s breast MR computer-aided detection system, CADstream, in France, the UK, Germany and Italy. The new markets represent the extension of an existing distribution agreement between the two companies addressing CADstream sales in the European Union. Merge has been ramping up educational efforts for EU radiologist, holding workshops on breast MRI in Germany and the U.K., and scheduling a course this month in France in November. CADstream joined the Merge portfolio with the acquisition earlier this year of its developer, Confirma, which is now the Merge CAD business unit. CADstream automates the analysis and interventional guidance of MRI studies. The company claims 1200 installed sites worldwide.
