Meaningful Use Attestation: Avoiding Penalties

Meaningful Use Attestation: Avoiding Penalties

Unless the federal agency reverses course, CMS will require all medical practices to prove meaningful use of their EHRs for all of 2015 or face a 1 percent penalty in Medicare reimbursements as a result.

In this video, Robert M. Tennant, senior policy advisor  for the Medical Group Management Association's Government Affairs Office says as a result, medical practices "need to be aggressive with their vendors" to ensure proper attestation. He also outlines the "challenging" criteria under the Stage 2 requirements involving patient engagement.

Tennant will present "Survive and Thrive in the New HIT Environment" at the MGMA14 Conference in Las Vegas on Monday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
