At its RSNA booth, Carestream Health plans to highlight the recent FDA approval of its mammography products based on computed radiography. On Nov. 18 the company announced it had worked out exactly how the products will be labeled for full-field digital mammography (FFDM) and had begun commercially distributing its CR mammography product, as well as upgrades to mammo capability for existing CR units in the field. Thousands of CR units already operating in the U.S. are compatible with the FFDM software upgrade and special phosphor plates, according to Diana Nole, president of the Carestream Digital Medical Solutions Division.
Listen now to Nole's comments during an interview with Greg Freiherr, business and technology editor for Diagnostic Imaging.
