Children's Healthcare of Atlanta will deploy ChartMaxx in all clinical areas across its two hospitals and ambulatory sites, including the health information departments and the emergency room. Its 1,287 physicians will utilize ChartMaxx and its electronic signature feature to complete charts via the Internet. ChartMaxx will integrate with Children's of Atlanta's current legacy systems, bringing all information into one central view, and helping to ease the frustrations that result from utilizing disparate systems.

"One of the frustrations we have faced when implementing systems is the constant modifications necessary to maintain a smooth flow of information among all of our clinical sites," said Ellen Wright, Director of Health Information Services at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. "We believe ChartMaxx will be a nice complement to our overall electronic strategy of bringing all clinical information in our current systems and paper files into one complete electronic system, accessible on-line from all clinical locations."

ChartMaxx is an enterprise-wide electronic patient record solution, enabling organizations to create and manage an electronic repository comprised of clinical, financial and administrative information. ChartMaxx provides instant, concurrent access to electronic patient records, enabling authorized users to save time as they complete patients' charts on-line. Other children's hospitals to select ChartMaxx include Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Children's Hospital and Health Center of San Diego and Children's Hospital of Central California.

"ChartMaxx has a proven track record of successfully integrating with legacy systems at other children's hospitals and we truly believe Children's Healthcare of Atlanta will realize similar success," said Richard A. Mahoney, President of MedPlus. "ChartMaxx users have instant, electronic access to all available information on a patient, eliminating the need for users to visit multiple systems. With time saved, pediatric healthcare organizations can focus on what's most important-providing exceptional care to sick children."

MedPlus is exhibiting at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, Monday, February 23 - Thursday, February 26. MedPlus will be demonstrating its ChartMaxx and eMaxx(R) products in booth number 2663 during established exhibit hours.
