ResolutionMD allows physicians to securely view patient images from computers and mobile devices, collaborate with practitioners, and make diagnoses in real time, according to the company. Patient information is not stored on the device. A 2012 Mayo Clinic study found that radiologists using ResolutionMD versus a PACS workstation accessed CT scans of stroke victims 24 percent faster, representing 11 minutes per patient, the company said.
Calgary Scientific is the first company to receive FDA clearance for diagnostic image viewing on a variety of Android devices, according to the company. ResolutionMD Web received FDA clearance in 2009, and in 2011 it was cleared for use on iPhone and iPad. ResolutionMD is also CE marked for distribution in Europe and licensed by Health Canada.
