In 2001, the Institute of Medicine released a paper recommending six “aims for improvement” for the redesign of the American health care system. Among the six “Aims for Improvement” was patient-centeredness, a concept radiology still struggles with 14 years later.At RSNA 2014, Susan John, MD, of the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, described what it means for radiology to provide patient-centered care.
