Ultrasound vendor Advanced Technology Laboratories of Bothell, WA, last month announced the establishment of a new Chinese subsidiary, ATL China, that is headquartered in Beijing. The subsidiary will assume marketing, service, and support activities for the company's HDI product line in China.

ATL's Apogee 800 Plus mid-range scanner will continue to be sold by Chinese ultrasound manufacturer Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments (SIUI). ATL and SIUI signed a deal last year in which ATL agreed to transfer Apogee 800 Plus technology to SIUI, which is manufacturing and selling the systems in the Chinese market (SCAN 10/23/96).
