Carestream Highlights MU Certification, PACS Updates

Article

Carestream to highlight Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use certification of the Vue RIS, and updates to the Vue PACS platform at RSNA 2014.

Carestream at RSNA 2014 will highlight new certification for its RIS and updates to its PACS products.

Carestream announces that its Vue RIS is one of the first to achieve certification for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use capabilities. The certification allows Vue RIS to exchange patient medical records and clinical documents with other certified EHR providers, Carestream said. Stage 2 capabilities include family health history, health information portability and sharing, online patient access to information and communication, and changes to comply with the way information is tracked so it can be more effectively shared and improve overall patient outcomes, Carestream said.

The latest version of Vue RIS will be available in the U.S. in December 2014.

Carestream’s Vue PACS platform offers new capabilities, including 64-bit architecture that provides enhanced processing power for radiologists to manage large imaging data sets and use complex analysis and automatic registration features to read 3D imaging studies, Carestream said.

The Vue PACS will offer a new voice recognition tool that enables radiologists to insert hyperlinks that can contain key images and quantitative comparisions, such as vessel analysis and measurements, into the final report, Carestream said.

Carestream said the zero-footprint Vue Motion viewer can be embedded into the EMR to allow access of 3D/MPR images, multimedia reports, and non-DICOM videos and photos to remote physicians from their mobile devices or workstations.
