Imaging services provider Health Images has announced that chairmanand CEO Robert Carl has assumed the responsibilities of W.A. Wilsonas president of the Atlanta company. HI said Wilson resigned aspresident and chief administrative officer to pursue other interests.
HI's announcement came shortly before the company releasedsecond-quarter results that show revenues of $32.4 million, comparedto $19.9 million in the second quarter of 1994. Much of the increasecame from HI's acquisition of 15 MedAlliance imaging centers.Net income from continuing operations for the quarter was $1.7million, compared to $1.6 million in the same period a year ago.
In other HI news, the company said it has received 510(k) clearancefor its inversion recovery with intense silicone (IRIS) pulsesequence. IRIS improves the ability of MRI to locate siliconewithin the body, improving the modality's utility in detectingruptures in silicone breast implants. IRIS is now available at33 Health Images centers.
