Coherent Diagnostic Technology, a developer of optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems for medical imaging and microscopy applications, has hired David Kolstad as vice president of marketing. Kolstad was previously worldwide marketing manager for the Imaging System Division of Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard and brings 10 years of medical-imaging industry experience to CDT.

The Westford, MA-based firm has licensed patents for the use of OCT from MIT (SCAN 11/11/98). The vendor hopes to have its first product, a microscopy system, which does not require review by the Food and Drug Administration (SCAN 9/1/99), on the market by midyear.
