The U.K. affiliate of medicalequipment lessor Comdisco Medical Equipment Group has inked adeal to supply a Scottish hospital with $25 million in high-technologymedical equipment. Comdisco said the deal is believed to be oneof the largest leases of high-tech equipment to a health-careprovider in the world.

Comdisco U.K. signed the deal with Health Care International,which has built a 260-bed tertiary care hospital near Glasgow,Scotland. The technology under lease includes medical imagingequipment, computers, telecommunications equipment and cardiacmonitoring devices.

The lease highlights Comdisco's increased focus on the internationalmarket, according to the company. Another sign of that focus camethis month, when Comdisco shipped a refurbished cardiac catheterizationlab to a Moscow hospital. The unit is one of only six in Russiaand the second supplied by Comdisco, according to the company.Comdisco supplied the first lab last year to a medical facilityin central Siberia.
