Computed radiography manufacturer Orex Computed Radiography has licensed the DICOM version of CompuMed's OsteoGram software. OsteoGram is designed as an aid in screening, diagnosing, and monitoring osteoporosis using film or digital images. Under the licensing agreement, CompuMed and Orex will conduct an accelerated clinical trial to validate the OsteoGram on the Orex Distributed CR. If the trial is successful, OsteoGram will serve as the bone densitometry component of Orex's CR offering. The integrated capability of the products would enable filmless bone mineral density testing, as well as routine digital x-ray imaging using a single compact CR system.
