The Food and Drug Administration last month gave 510(k) clearance to Hitachi's Stratis 1.5-teslaMR scanner, according to Sheldon Schaffer, director of marketingat the Twinsburg, OH, company. Hitachi introduced Stratis at lastyear's Radiological Society of North America meeting (SCAN 11/23/94).Hitachi plans to begin production shipments of Stratis in latespring or early summer, Schaffer said.
