[PODCAST] Obama's sore throat and CT scan and what it means for imaging utilization.
Rogue MDs is a group of health care professionals who enlighten and entertain by discussing issues relevant to today’s health care landscape.
In early December, President Barack Obama’s throat had already been sore for several weeks. His unscheduled visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center quickly made breaking news, and White House staffers “were kept up to speed” on the President’s condition, according to CNN. After an ear, nose, and throat specialist conducted a fiber optic exam, which revealed soft tissue swelling in the posterior throat, a CT scan was ordered.
The CT scan was normal; President Obama was experiencing acid reflux.
So let’s talk about quality of care and appropriate use of imaging.
In this episode, our “Rogue MDs” discuss “Obamascan” and its implications for how imaging is used.
