The buying spree continued for GE Medical Systems with its acquisition in early January of Ambassador Medical, a refurbisher and distributor of used ultrasound equipment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ambassador, which has about 40 employees, was acquired to provide customers with more options for managing their ultrasound equipment, according to GE. Company strategists are planning to establish a Center of Excellence for refurbished ultrasound equipment at the Ambassador Medical facility in Carmel, IN.
