Production of full-field digital mammography systems is hitting its stride at Hologic. The company has shipped its 25th Lorad Selenia FFDM to the University of Southern California/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles. Selenia will serve in the Lee Breast Center, a sector of the facility designed exclusively for the detection and treatment of breast diseases. The system is built on the M-IV mammography platform and includes the company's DirectRay flat-panel detector, which converts x-rays to light using amorphous selenium.
