Gerard Ranasinghe is Marconi Medical Systems' new vice president for the Asia Pacific region, replacing Larry Miller, who took over the company's huge Health Care Products division.
Ranasinghe will be responsible for the company's business in Japan, China, Australia, and Southeast Asia. Marconi sees Japan's status as the second-largest diagnostic imaging market in the world and China's new open trade policies as key to opportunities for growth in those areas.
Ranasinghe has been with Marconi 12 years in various roles from controller to general manager of the firm's MRI business. n
