MedCurrent Updates Clinical Decision Support

Article

CHICAGO-MedCurrent will feature at RSNA 2015 updates to its clinical decision support system.

MedCurrent will release at RSNA 2015 updates to MedCurrent CDS, a clinical decision support system.

The new system includes updated interfaces with deeper data analytics functionality that measures the system’s effectiveness and drives improvement initiatives, according to a release. An updated “Authoring Studio” provides the option to customize rules to meet local practice needs.

Appropriate Use criteria is used to analyze and rank the appropriateness of the provider’s order. The software provides feedback and informs the provider of the urgency in obtaining the study, the amount of radiation the patient will be exposed to, how expensive it is, and whether it has been performed recently, the release said.

The new system also allows two-way communication with the EMR, CPOE, scheduling, and other aligned systems, cross workflow compatibility to send orders through fax or e-mail and capacity for modular integration into PACS and RIS.
