Canadian software developer Medipattern has shipped the first 10 of 200 B-CAD breast screening ultrasound packages ordered by the China Primary Health Care Foundation. The software product automatically creates standardized worksheets and reports that assist in the detection of breast cancer. The 200 units will serve as the foundation for a pilot breast-screening program in rural Chinese hospitals. Training in their use was scheduled to begin by the end of this month in Beijing.
Dunlee has upgraded its replacement tube for the installed base of GE BrightSpeed 16 Elite, BrightSpeed 8 Edge, and BrightSpeed 4 Excel CT scanners. The new tube features an improved mounting plate and warranty identical to the one offered by GE on its own tube, according to Dunlee, covering 12 months or 6000 patient exams.
