A new standard for interventional angiography x-ray products promises to ensure that the method of control for interventional x-ray equipment is consistent for all manufacturers. The XR 24-2008 standard, "Primary User Controls for Interventional Angiography X-Ray Equipment," offers a unified approach to control functions, according to its developer, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. It will help manufacturers in the design process, and the subsequent consistency will benefit users, said NEMA, which developed the standard based on interviews of cardiologists, neuroradiologists, and interventional radiologists, including members of the Society of Interventional Radiology.
The New York Mets went digital this baseball season with the installation of Fujifilm's XC-2 digital computed radiography system and the FCRView image management workstation. New York Imaging Service runs the CR system for the National League team, currently in second place.
New color codes built into RIS Concepts' web-based RAD-RIS workflow application are designed to allow radiologists to identify at a glance the studies they need to interpret first, as well as determine study turnaround times required for exams at multiple facilities. The new feature will be particularly helpful for those who read exams from multiple sites and have a large number of evolving deadlines, according to the company.
