Batra Hospital in New Delhi has installed a 1.5-tesla GE Medical Systems MR scanner as part of its plan to become the most advanced and comprehensive multispecialty hospital in India’s capital.

The machine will allow doctors to visualize the inside of a patient’s body even as the patient breathes and moves thanks to interactive controlled software called the GE iDrive, said Dr. R.K. Mathur, chief coordinator and head of imaging at Batra Hospital. The software takes quick and continuous images of the patient’s anatomy. This helps doctors find lesions or suspicious areas more quickly, according to a hospital spokesperson.
