Philips Medical Systems will provide state-of-the-art cardiovascular imaging equipment and software, enterprise-wide PACS, and radiology equipment, as well as patient monitoring systems, services, and other products including consumer electronics, lighting, and appliances to Fletcher Allen Health Care of Burlington, VT. Among the Philips systems to be installed are the Intera 3T MR, Brilliance 40-slice CT, and Allura Xper FD10 cardiac cath system. The equipment purchase is part of a $360 million "Renaissance Project," which began construction in 2001. It includes a 500,000-square-foot Ambulatory Care Center that will allow patients access to women's services, pediatrics, comprehensive cancer care, neurosciences, diagnostic radiology, and surgical subspecialties. The agreement calls for Fletcher Allen to serve as a premier reference site for Philips to demonstrate advanced imaging technology in a clinical setting.
