Video: Collecting radiology practice benchmarking data comes with the responsibility to protect sensitive patient information. Brian Baker, of Regents Health Resources, explains how.
Data, data, data - it’s becoming increasingly more integral to running an efficient radiology practice. Operations data, such as reimbursement and utilization information, can help practices improve their performance and gain an edge in the marketplace.
But the systems designed to collect and make this data readily accessible can include sensitive patient information, putting practices at risk. Protecting patient information is a big issue for practices, said Brian Baker, president of Regents Health Resources.
“There are ways to benchmark your business and share important information without revealing the protected patient information,” Baker said.
In this video, Baker explains how to ensure your practice and data providers are following HIPPA protocols to protect sensitive patient information.
