SMS, Olicon to expand relationship

PACS firm Olicon and healthcare information systems powerhouse Shared Medical Systems have inked an agreement that will allow SMS to offer Olicon's diagnostic workstations and PACSView teleradiology offerings to its customers. The Aliso Viejo, CA-based company's NT-based workstations will serve as the high-end diagnostic component of the SMS Radiology Management and Medical Imaging Management systems, according to the firms. PACSView will serve as the at-home teleradiology solution. The deal builds on a relationship seen at the 1997 Radiological Society of North America meeting, where Olicon workstations were displayed in the booth of Malvern, PA-based SMS (
