Donald Southard has left his position as vice president of salesand marketing at Elscint's U.S. subsidiary in Hackensack, NJ,for a position at cardiac monitoring firm Datascope. Southard'sdeparture was amicable, according to Dr. Thomas Spackman,

Donald Southard has left his position as vice president of salesand marketing at Elscint's U.S. subsidiary in Hackensack, NJ,for a position at cardiac monitoring firm Datascope. Southard'sdeparture was amicable, according to Dr. Thomas Spackman, presidentof the subsidiary.

"Don was terrific," Spackman said. "He broughtimagination, direction, enthusiasm, and fun to Elscint."

Southard joined Elscint in 1994 after serving as presidentand CEO of independent service provider Serviscope. He has alsoworked for OEMs Philips and Toshiba. Spackman has taken over Southard'sresponsibilities temporarily, while Elscint undergoes a reviewof its corporate organization that may result in changes to thesubsidiary's executive lineup, Spackman said.
