VA’s Vista program achieves integration with GE CIS

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Vista Interface Program and GE Marquette Medical Systems have developed interfaces that enable the Vista computerized patient record and information system to share and exchange data with GE’s QS Critical Care Clinical Information System. The interfaced systems also house a clinical data repository. The program is attempting to gain Class 1 status for this process, meaning that the software would become public property available to 150 VA medical centers and would be maintained by the VA’s national information technology group. GE is the sole corporate supporter of this program, which is open to all vendors.
