Vidar Systems launched a new film digitizer at last month's Society of Breast Imaging meeting in Boston. Designed for digitizing mammography films, MammographyPro can support applications such as remote primary diagnosis and computer-assisted diagnosis, according to the Herndon, VA-based firm. MammographyPro uses Vidar's High Definition CCD (HD-CCD) technology, and features a spot size of 31 microns, as well as an optical density range between zero and 3.65. MammographyPro will be available this summer, and will list at about $20,000.
In other Vidar news, the company will supply Jacksonville, FL-based StorComm with its DiagnosticPro and TeleRadPro digitizers. Vidar has also signed an agreement with Meta Solutions of Linthicum, MD, in which Meta will include Vidar products in its teleradiology and PACS offerings.
