The deal to purchase privately held software developer HInnovation is done. The next step by new owner Vital Images is to finish training the HInnovation sales force and to begin selling iConnection, software that allows physicians to use PCs or notebook computers to access 2D, 3D, and 4D medical imaging applications securely over the Internet. Vital Images views the acquisition as a strategic opportunity to enter the Web-based distributed visualization and analysis market and to expand its customer base.
