What You Need to Know Before Your First RSNA

Slideshow

Tips on preparing for RSNA.

The other day, I overheard a conversation between two residents:Resident 1: "I got approved to go to RSNA this year."Resident 2: "Great news. I love the RSNA meeting. It's going to be tough to top last year though."Resident 1: "This is actually my first time ever going, even though I'm a fourth year."Resident 2: "RSNA is unlike any other conference you've been to. You have no idea what you're getting yourself in for."While the experience at RSNA means something different to each of the 50,000+ attendees, there is one common thread among all attendees. Whether you are a practicing radiologist, trainee, exhibitor, American, or foreigner, RSNA is, in fact, unlike any other conference you've been to before, unless you happen to attend the Federation of International Medical Equipment Suppliers Meeting, or the Greater New York Dental Meeting, which are the only other conferences that draw greater than 50,000 attendees, according to the Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association.I've asked some of my acquaintances that I reconnect with every year at RSNA to share what they wish they knew before they attended their first RSNA meeting as a way to help those trainees who will be attending their first meeting. Feel free to reminisce about your first RSNA experience and share your own thoughts in the comments section below.
