Ultrasound vendor Acoustic Imaging has signed a technology cooperation agreement with two Singapore firms to develop a new method for manufacturing transducers. The Phoenix, AZ, company will collaborate on ceramic injection molding processes with Advanced Materials Technologies, which designs and produces component parts using metal injection molding techniques. The other partner is Gintic Institute of Manufacturing Technology, a research institute of the state of Singapore. The three firms hope the technique will improve the manufacture of electronic ultrasonic transducers.
