Gamma Medica has begun marketing a cardiac gating subsystem for its preclinical imaging system. X-SPECT, the company's second-generation MicroSPECT system, is used by medical researchers and drug companies to visualize molecular markers in animal subjects. The gating subsystem freezes movement of the heart to allow more accurate in vivo cardiac imaging.
