Computerized Thermal Imaging of Lake Oswego, OR, has signed anagreement with technology conglomerate TRW for systems integration,installation, training, and maintenance of CTI's thermal imagingsystems in North America. CTI values the contract at $27 millionover four years, based on the installation of 265 systems overthe life of the deal.

CTI has developed a thermal imaging system that monitors thebody's temperature regulatory system to discover anomalies insoft tissue. The system uses an infrared camera and computingmodule that has been integrated with TRW's advanced processingtechnologies. CTI has begun deployment of initial systems andplans to have 20 units in place by the end of March.

The TRW Systems Integration Group's Healthcare InformationSystems unit in San Bernardino, CA, will work with CTI in installingthe units. TRW will also provide a national database registryfor new classes of soft tissue disorders as they are identifiedand processed by TRW's Advanced Medical Imaging Laboratory inOgden, UT, according to the companies.
