Dicomit Imaging Systems has added the ability to transmit a live ultrasound study to a remote physician as part of its DICOM Image Manager offering. The upgrade, called Live View, captures live video and streams it as compressed data over a local or wide area network to a remote viewer, according to the Richmond Hill, Ontario-based firm. Because it requires lossy compression, the technique is not intended for primary diagnosis.
