The FDA has cleared the disposable transesophageal coil for sale in the U.S. When placed behind the heart, Cardiac View Probe-used in combination with an MRI-generates images of the heart, the aortic arch, the descending aorta, and coronary vessels. The device works in conjunction with a Cardiac View Surface Coil, which is in FDA review.
