Picker International announced Feb. 9 that the Food and Drug Administrationhas granted regulatory clearances to market single-shot echo-planarimaging and high-speed PowerDrive for its 1.5-tesla Edge and 1-teslaVista MRI scanners.
Single-shot EPI is an ultra-fast acquisition technique thatacquires up to 10 images per second. The software operates withPowerDrive gradients capable of a 27-mtelsa/m peak and a 72-mtesla/m/msecramp rate, according to Linda Eastwood, MRI group manager.
