Konica Minolta will release a lightweight exam and cassette identification tool this summer that will serve as a companion for its Xpress computed radiography system. The handheld product, Xpress Portable Assistant, registers CR cassettes at the point of patient care. It has a built-in barcode reader and touchscreen control with keypad, cradle, and stylus. Patient exams are downloaded into the device from the Xpress CR Control Station modality work list. Upon exam completion, plate registration can be uploaded back to any control station in the network for immediate plate processing and confirmation.
