IDX Systems has signed a definitive agreement to acquire medical transcription services firm EDiX. The deal is valued at $20 million plus the assumption of EDiX debt. Subject to regulatory and EDiX shareholder approval as well as satisfaction of other closing conditions, the transaction will be accounted for as a pooling of interests and is scheduled to close in the first quarter of 1999. n
