IMiG-MRI, the joint venture between Intermagnetics General ofLatham, NY, and Surrey Medical Imaging Systems of Surrey, U.K.,has received 510(k) clearance for its IMiG-MRI 0.15-tesla permanent-magnetscanner (SCAN 7/3/96). The Food and Drug Administration's actionwill enable IMiG-MRI to begin sales of the scanner in the U.S.as well as in several Asian countries, which have effectivelymade FDA clearance a requirement for marketing, according to IMiG-MRIgeneral manager Paul Domigan.
