January marked a flurry of resignations among the highest ranks of Kodak leadership. On Jan. 7, the company announced that Patricia F. Russo had resigned as president and COO to become CEO of Lucent Technologies. Less than a week earlier, Kodak senior vice president J. Michael McQuade said he would step down as president of Kodak's Health Imaging unit to become a vice president of 3M's medical products division. Kodak chairman of the board and CEO Daniel A. Carp has assumed the responsibilities of Kodak president and COO. Candy M. Obourn, as COO of the company's Health Imaging unit, has assumed McQuade's duties. The search has begun for a new president of the Health Imaging unit.
