Mammography vendor Lorad, a subsidiary of Hologic, has launched an extranet Web site to allow electronic parts ordering and online technical resources for registered dealers. Specifically, the site provides electronic ordering capabilities, as well as parts identification, technical bulletins, operator’s manuals, and CME-approved training courses for Lorad equipment. It also provides a forum for e-mail response to nonurgent technical questions.

The company has also entered into a two-year exclusive agreement with Broadlane, a provider of supply chain management services to the healthcare industry, covering the purchase and sale of Lorad mammographic systems. Lorad executives expect the agreement to help place the company’s breast imaging systems across a nationwide network of hospitals.
