X-ray film digitizer and budding computed radiography developer Lumisys has named Bala Manian chairman, replacing Douglas DeVivo, who has retired. DeVivo will continue to serve on the Lumisys board.
Manian, who founded both Lumisys and analytical instrumentation system firm Molecular Dynamics in 1987, returned to the Lumisys board last month. Most recently, Manian served as founder and chairman of Biometric Imaging, a cellular therapeutics systems firm. He is an expert in electro-optical systems and holds many patents in that field, according to Sunnyvale, CA-based Lumisys.
